YOUR PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT 

You will experience and learn therapeutic frameworks, tools & practices for you to use straight away with your clients & students. You will receive a certificate, the module manual, notes, & recordings. You will also be given exclusive access to the Svastha Yoga Therapy International community support group on FB. This is closed for professional support group open to people who have participated in a Svastha Yoga Therapy Program (SYTP) Module and more.  The program is currently expanding for  accreditation with the International Association of Yoga Therapist (IAYT). 

 

Dr. Ganesh Mohan

Dr Ganesh Mohan is a visionary Yoga teacher & therapist. He is trained as a doctor in Western Medicine and is an Ayurvedic doctor. Ganesh is down to earth and able to communicate his extensive knowledge and experience with simplicity and clarity.

Dr Ganesh Mohan was born into a yoga family. His parents A.G. Mohan and Indra Mohan studied with Sir T. Krishnamacharya for over 18 years.

 


OUTLINE

MODULE 4: PRANAYAMA, AYURVEDA, NEUROLOGICAL/DIGESTIVE/ HORMONAL/IMMUNE SYSTEMS

  • Safety considerations in yoga sessions for balance problems, movement disorders.
  • Observation and assessment skills: setting optimal and realistic goals based on physical limitations and challenges.
  • Working with the inner body awareness and the breath as a pathway to access physiological balance.
  • Disorder based considerations for specific conditions. For example:
    • a) Problems of ageing
    • b) Parkinson’s disease, Multiple sclerosis, Stroke
    • c) Chronic pain, fatigue syndromes
    • d) Irritable Bowel Syndrome and digestive problems
    • e) Menstrual disorders
  • Visualization and imagination in yoga practice, to influence the physiology of the body with the tools of the mind.
  • Pranayama as a therapeutic tool:
    • a) Different types of Pranayama
    • b) Sequencing Pranayama
    • c) Relation to Ayurveda
  • An overview of traditional yoga concepts related to pranayama: Nadis, Prana, Koshas etc.
  • Introduction to assessment of ayurvedic constitution or Prakrti and its use.

Krishnamacharya's key principle is that yoga is adapted to the individual.

Svastha Yoga Foundational Therapy Modules are registered with the YA. The SYTP program is currently expanding & to meet accreditation with at International Association for Yoga Therapist (IATY).
